10 Ways To Take Care Of Yourself – Today I want to talk about taking care of our spiritual health in a clear and holistic way. Because how we take care of our hearts affects how we take care of our minds, which affects how we take care of our bodies. Everything is connected.
And while taking care of our hearts might seem a little woowoo or “out there,” it’s what it’s all about. So I want to try to apply it to all mothers, everywhere. In this article, I’m going to share ten ways we can care for our souls in consistent, tangible, and life-changing ways.
10 Ways To Take Care Of Yourself
Disclaimer: I come from a certain worldview in this article. I am born again to Jesus Christ. I have a personal relationship with him. I believe he died on the cross for my sins and for the sins of all who have ever existed or will ever exist, all we have to do is accept that free gift to be saved, he is buried and after three days he rose again. I think I can talk to him anywhere, anytime, without anyone interceding. I believe that every word of the Bible is infallibly true. And when I die, I believe I will immediately be with Jesus.
Ways To Avoid Stress And Renew Mental Health From Take Care Of Yourself
In our modern world, we are bombarded with bad news every day. Of course. Sometimes it seems almost inevitable. We certainly can’t control everything unless we want to live in a bubble, but we can control most of it.
We have many options in this regard. The starting point. We may not be in control of anyone or anything else, but we are in control of ourselves.
So how do we soak up the truth every day? The first way to do this is to read the Bible daily. Almost always first thing in the morning before I leave my room. Some days I have a few minutes, other days more. Some days I read a chapter or part of a chapter, but I almost always try to read at least one verse that can carry my day.
I begin by introducing the truth rather than intentionally omitting a lie. I don’t watch or read the news. I don’t follow people on social media who don’t tell the truth or lift me up. If I have doubts or fears, I ask God for protection. I’m not always as quick to recognize psychic attacks as I should be, but over the years I’ve learned a lot and can better spot the telltale signs.
Day Self Care Challenge
I end each day with a prayer for physical, mental and emotional protection for myself and my family. I ask God to send warrior angels to protect us while we sleep.
Try it: Make it a point to read a verse or a chapter before you get out of bed. Pick a Bible book to work through verse by verse, download the YouVersion app and pick a Bible study to read, check out SheReadsTruth and use their studies (read it online for free and you can even have it automatically emailed to you every day). Pray throughout the day, pray for protection, be clear – pray for the lies of the enemy to die out and the truth to reign in your heart. Unfollow people you need to unfollow, turn off the news, be a guardian of your mind.
A lot of bad things are happening in the world right now. This is to be expected because we live in a broken world and this is not our home. So much work and hardship and unknowns and agony and mental oppression. This is real.
So I’m not telling you to play Pollyanna and sweep everything under the rug, just deny it. I want to tell you that practicing gratitude on a regular basis changes our perspective.
Ways To Take Care Of Yourself Because Things May Get Worse Before They Get Better
I know this has been true in my life. When I feel weighed down by everything around me, expressing gratitude instantly transforms my spirit.
My favorite way to practice gratitude is to list five things you are grateful for each day before you get out of bed. Only five You can even do it before bed. Or both times.
Try it: List 5 things you’re grateful for every day. You can make it a mental list or start a gratitude journal that you add to daily. Find an empty magazine and keep it next to your bed. Make it a habit to find these 5 things and I promise it will bring lightness to your days and your soul.

There were too many unknowns. fear I hate being apart from my husband. As much as I was grateful for my parents’ support that season, being homeless was hard. come in In clear condition.
Ways To Deal With Caregiver Stress
In the midst of it all, I remember praying constantly, like I hadn’t done in a long time. And I started writing truth-filled affirmations that I said about myself and my family every day. They were like prayers but said as a statement of faith.
Do you want to know something? All the statements I wrote on that list came true. And many of them were HUGE and seemed impossible. It still blows my mind. I am so thankful that I chose to use the power of truth-filled affirmations during that season.
Test: Write a list of 3-5 truth-filled statements. An example from my list that season: “We’re selling our house for more than we thought.” Keep your affirmations where you will see them every day. Take a minute to read them out loud. Make a difference out loud. I know it sounds silly, but the spoken word has power.
Linking to the first point because it is very important. What we fill our mind with affects the state of our soul. We need to keep the truth at the center.

That’s why I like to read the Bible first thing in the morning. Usually at least one verse or part of a verse gets me. It’s a real piece that I can carry with me in my day.
I write it at the top of my to-do list or remind myself from time to time. Either way, I intentionally incorporate the truth into my day and keep it in mind. On the days I do this, the effect on my mental health is huge.
Try it: Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the truth as you read the Bible. Take that truth with you in your day. Create a lock screen for your phone, write it on your to-do list, write it on an old index card, and keep it somewhere you’ll see it often.

Do it more. Tap into your inner child. Don’t make excuses. Don’t overthink it. Allow yourself to just dream. It is very important for the health of our heart. God would not have created us with the ability to dream if He did not want us to use that ability for the rest of our lives.
Try: Leave a place to sit and dream. Get a notebook and a pen. Or your laptop. Even the notes app on your phone. Just sit and dream. Where do you want to go? what are you going to do If money and time are no objects, list three things. It starts there. Dream yourself without any qualification.
