The Super Bowl, or any similar sporting event, is traditionally the last game of the year. However, NASCAR’s version is the first race on the calendar — the Daytona 500 is not only an exciting race, but arguably one of the most historic races in the world.

There’s plenty to eat in Daytona’s paddock and under the grandstands in the hall. The variety is impressive, from drinks, coffee and traditional stadium fare to more eclectic options. There are also various places throughout the infield to feed fans for 24 hours. From the various bars that pop up near the main display area to the simple sausage and betel nut stalls around the main walkway, you’ll never have a problem finding food. On the downside, however, for fans of trucks or Xfinity races a few days before the big game, only select food stalls in the lower lobby are open.

Who Has The Most Nascar Cup Series Wins At Daytona International Speedway?

There’s nothing quite like the Daytona 500 – whether you’re watching the big game on Sunday or the smaller game before the big game on Friday night or Saturday, you know you’re watching history. The best drivers fight for the biggest trophy of the year, with cars racing at 200 mph in a thrilling race like nothing else can offer. Every lap of every game, fans packed the stands, cheering and the atmosphere was lively.

The track itself is great too – an update to the main stand (thanks to the Daytona Rise project a few years ago) makes outfield seating very comfortable for fans. Plus, with easy-to-navigate main lobbies and franchise areas everywhere, it feels more like visiting a pro stadium for the Super Bowl than a racing car.

Daytona is the party town of yesteryear, where tourists flock to the beach in the summer. But the North Florida sun in January isn’t always that hot. Still, the beach is only a few kilometers from the stadium, and there are plenty of shops, malls and restaurants on the street across from the stadium. From Chipotle and Panera to Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse, there’s plenty to shop and dine during your stay.

Crowds sold out for the great American race are commonplace. Once again, the 2019 race added to the historic sold-out event—from the crowded infield campsite to the grandstands up front, fans at a glance. They support their favorite drivers and teams, and it’s no mystery who they support.

Behind The Scenes Sneak Peek From The Daytona International Speedway

On-street parking is plentiful; not only is there on-site parking for a variety of parking passes, but the track also offers a variety of off-site parking options for fans if you prefer to walk. For those who would rather take a car, trams can also take you in and out of the track from the many car parks, as well as take you from one point on the track itself to another.

The biggest downsides here are the parking fees (up to $50 on the day of the Daytona 500), and the incredible traffic patterns after the race – which side of the street you park on will determine when it will take you off the track and back to you hotel.

Daytona 500 tickets are on the low end at $100 with better seats and higher fares. This is by far one of the most expensive races on the track, but also the most important. Winning the Daytona 500 is about cementing its place in sports history, which makes this ticket a great price.

Be sure to capture every moment of the day, because participating in this game is a dream for sports fans around the world. It’s NASCAR’s Masters, Super Bowl and World Series, wrapping up on a bright afternoon in the warm Florida sun.

The track has a huge fan area just outside the main entrance, full of giveaways and interactive displays, fans with infield access can also get up close to the race, and the garage location allows you to get an up-close look at the cars and teams heading for the next Track meeting effort.

You can also see how the inspection process at the track works outback, thanks to a fan viewing area in the inspection area NASCAR has set up for cars.

The Daytona 500 is full of spectacle, power and historical significance. To witness a great American race is to witness a truly awe-inspiring spectacle with some of NASCAR’s most passionate fans. NASCAR fans are one of the sport’s most devoted fan bases, and there’s no event that exemplifies this more than Speedweeks in Daytona. Without a doubt, this is one of the best events of the entire sports year and fans of all interest levels should make the effort to watch.
