Although the easiest way to check if Windows 11 is running on your computer is to see the new blue Start icon in the Taskbar or the new one facing the start menu and Taskbar, you can also check which version is running installed on your laptop. or a desktop computer using the “winver” command and the “About” page.
How Can I Tell If My Pc Has Been Hacked
In this guide, you will learn the steps to confirm if Windows 11 is installed on the computer.
What’s The Minimum Specification For Someone Buying A Pc?
If the dialog shows “Version 21H2” as well as “OS Build 22000.xxx” or a higher build number, that’s another way to confirm that the device has Windows 11 installed.
If the “About” page shows the number 21H2 and the build number is equal to or higher than “22000.194,” then you’re running Windows 11. It’s important to note that the version will also tell you if the installation is using of “Windows 11 Pro” or “Windows 11 Home.”
How Can I Know If My Computer Is Infected?
Although the BIOS has been around for years and helps the operating system communicate with the hardware, it is a system that has some limitations, such as drive partition support, slow boot times, and does not provide of boot security.
UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) is a new system that replaces BIOS that comes with its own boot manager, provides faster boot times, improves network support, supports larger partitions on drives, and provides security features to protect your system from bootkits and more. malware attack in the beginning.
Although most devices today have UEFI support, there are still many computers (especially older ones) that still use BIOS. If you want to know what type of system your PC, laptop, or tablet is using, you can check this information in at least two different ways in Windows 10.
If you also want to find the BIOS or UEFI version you are using, you can refer to this guide.

In late June, Microsoft announced Windows 11, noted that the upcoming OS will have stricter hardware requirements than Windows 10, and released a tool called PC Health Check to allow users to check their PC upgrade. After just four days, however, Microsoft removed the tool from circulation, citing issues with “a level of detail or accuracy.” In other words, it tells many users that their hardware can’t run Windows 11, but it doesn’t tell them why.
To fix the loss of the PC Health Check app, Microsoft released some detailed minimum system requirements for Windows 11, but it also noted that those requirements could change after the company receives feedback from Windows Insider testers its program.
As of August 27, the PC Health Check tool is back, and there’s no shortage of third-party options available for those who want to report on PCs’ compliance with – or violations of – Windows’ minimum system requirements. 11, which will begin rolling out on October 5. I’ll walk you through the system requirements as they stand today, along with how to use the PC Health Check app and two other tools to check for upgrade readiness of Windows 11 of your PC.

According to Microsoft’s Windows 11 overview page, the following items describe the requirements that a PC must meet in order to properly install Windows 11 on that machine. Now, Microsoft has loosened those restrictions, so that non-competing PCs can run Windows 11 within the Insider Program. But when the official release comes out later this year, those devices will no longer be able to upgrade to the new version of Windows 11.
The company also recently changed its CPU restrictions to include some of the latest 7th-generation Intel processors found in some of its Microsoft Surface Studio 2 PCs, as well as some Xeon processors. (See Intel’s link to the original list item above.) Otherwise, the specifications mentioned above will not change.
As I write this article, PC Health Check has been released again, but it is currently available to members of the Microsoft Windows Insider program. To download PC Health Check, you must be a registered Windows Insider and signed in to an associated Microsoft account. Otherwise, you’ll get a response from Microsoft Software Download that says “To access this page, you must be a member of the Windows Insider program.”
To run the program, type PC Heal in the search box, then run the app from the Start menu. To run the built-in Windows 11 compatibility checker, click it

Button within “Introducing Windows 11” at the top of the app window, as shown in Figure 1:
The program returns one of three possible windows after running the compatibility check. Those who pass the check get a “required” message (Figure 2, left); those that fail get a “not yet recognized” message (middle); and those from PCs running Windows Education or Enterprise or another version of Windows managed by the IT department get the message “Your organization is expecting updates on this PC” (right) but no availability check match. I’m running Enterprise on my production PC and have reported this as a bug or problem to Microsoft through its Feedback Hub.

The passing grade goes to the 2018 Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga, which has an eighth-generation Intel CPU and other features. Some details of both machines can be seen in Figure 3.

Microsoft’s PC Health Check will work for most Windows PCs. Those running Windows 10 Education or Business may be out of luck. Ditto for Windows PCs managed by Group Policy in an organization’s IT environment. YMMV, as they say. And, yes, you might not want to join the Windows Insider program. That’s why I also recommend two third-party compatibility checking tools in the next section.
While other options are available, I’ve found two third-party tools that can help check PC Windows 11 compatibility in enough detail to be useful:
Any of these tools can give you enough intelligence to determine if your PC is ready for Windows 11, with one caveat. Older PCs with CPUs that fit under the processor requirement may include hardware-based TPM chips of version 1.3 or higher (numbered lower). These CPUs can comply with TPM 2.0, so it seems that the failure to meet the requirements of Windows 11 at the hardware level can be mitigated in software. I’ll explain more in the Windows 11 Compatibility Check script section below.

It takes a little time to load the WMIC (Windows Management Instrumentation command-line utility) that it was built with. When it completes the various tests, it displays their results as shown in Figure 4 (from an incompatible system) and 5 (from a compatible system).

Understanding the results of NeiNot11 is easy: green means it meets the requirements, red means it doesn’t, and amber means it may or may not meet the final requirements but does not currently meet the requirements. There’s been a lot of hype about whether Microsoft should draw the line at CPU generations, so amber is a soup for the high.
