My son really likes work clothes. I think everything he wears is a T-shirt from Under Armor and his high school team. The only time you’ll find him wearing a shirt or polo is on game day when he needs to get dressed. For some reason, dry fitted shirts hold more sweat and smell better than cotton clothing.

I’m sure lifting weights in clothes and leaving them in a locker for a week or two won’t help. Luckily I have learned to remove sweat from clothes. Otherwise I always buy new clothes for her. So if you have some workout clothes that you can’t seem to put out with the smell of sweat then check out these great tips on how to get the sweat smell out of your clothes.
Master Odor Removal With A Little Help From Science
You’ll want to start by filling the washing machine with the hottest water in your machine. Pour a cup of vinegar into the machine.
Let the machine run for a minute or two until the ingredients are completely moistened. Then remove the washing machine and allow the clothing to soak for about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the smell of the clothing.
After a while add laundry detergent and start turning the machine over and letting it run in circles. I recommend using the extra rinse cycle when doing this. When the cycle is complete, remove the clothes and dry them as usual.
You may need to repeat the process if the clothes are really smelly. I’ve found that only one cycle is needed when washing sweaty clothes. Clothes that sweat and are left under the hood for weeks usually need double that. I

Step 1: Fill the Sink with Hot Water and Add About 1/2 – 1 C. Baking Soda. Swirl the water around until the baking soda dissolves, and then add your stinky treat. Put everything in the water to make sure everything is covered and wet. Let sit 30 minutes – 2 hours.
Step 2: Rinse Well; Twisting while washing clothes. Now fill the sink with warm water and add a cup of white vinegar to it. Smell the clothes until they are full. Let the cloth soak for another 30 minutes – 2 hours (more time is fine too).

With high humidity in the summer, we often end up with stale towels, as they just stay wet on the towel bar.
Our old front loader didn’t help matters either. Even after running to clean the drains and leaving the door open, it always smelled of mud. (We replaced the unit in January and the new washer is better. It has drain and is clean except at the bottom of the clock drum.)

My husband’s grandfather ran a commercial laundry for many years, and he swore by white vinegar to remove stains and odors. It also helps in the build-up of hard water and detergent that accumulates on clothing.
Note: Make sure you use the right type and amount of detergent when washing clothes. Detergent residue traps moisture, making it more likely that you’ll end up with dirty towels and odors on sweaty clothes.)
How To Remove Perfume Odors From Clothes
I’ve used white vinegar in laundry (instead of soaking clothes) for years. Fill the dryer and you are ready to go. One cup of vinegar per load for the top carriers, adding 1/4 to 1/2 cup for the front carriers.
Some online guides recommend rinsing your flimsy towels with a full cup of white vinegar (without detergent) in warm water to remove the musty odor.
One of the best ways to remove odors, baking soda can be sprayed directly into your clothes and your clothes in the washing machine. Also, I use about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of baking soda per load, followed by white wine vinegar.
Since body odor was the main cause of my son’s dirty clothes, I thought enzyme cleaners might help get rid of the odor.
